Head of Police Headquarters receives Human Rights Defender's Office representatives (VIDEO)
Head of Police Headquarters, Police Colonel Armen Ghukasyan received the representatives of the RA Human Rights Defender's Office on Wednesday, December 26.
Present at the meeting were Head of Police Headquarters’ Duty Service Arayik Arakelyan, Head of the Public order maintenance Department of the RA Police Georgy Ayvazyan, Head of Head of the Department for Protection of Rights in Criminal Justice and Armed Forces of the Human Rights Defender’s Office Artyom Sedrakyan, Head of the Department for Prevention of Ill-treatment and Torture Gohar Simonyan, her Deputy Vahan Mikaelyan and employees of other subdivisions.
Welcoming the guests, the Head of the Police Headquarters underlined the importance of strengthening interdepartmental cooperation.
Issues related to the rights of persons kept in the place of detention under the police subdivisions, issues of material and sanitary and hygienic conditions, proposals for making addenda to the Government Decree "On Approving the Internal Regulation of the places of detention within the RA Police System" and some issues of the function of escorting and keeping the detainees and arrestees.
As a result of effective discussions, most of the issues raised found positive solutions.
