Police Chief receives the delagation of the Council of Europe (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

On Tuesday, September 3, Chief of Police of the Republic of Armenia, Major General Valery Osipyan had a meeting with Natalia Vutova, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan and Lianna Amirbekyan, Senior Project Officer, Council of Europe.
Head of the Police Headquarters Armen Ghukasyan, Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department Artak Karapetyan, Head of the Department for Juvenile affairs and Domestic Violence Prevention Nelly Duryan and Head of Public Relations and Media Department Ashot Aharonyan were present at the meeting.
Welcoming the guests, Valery Osipyan attached importance to the cooperation between the RA Police and the Yerevan Office of the Council of Europe.
"We are glad to see you and express our readiness to continue our cooperation with the Council of Europe. The Police are undergoing reforms, and I think that cooperation and exchange of experience with law enforcement agencies of European countries is very important,” said the Police chief.
Speaking about the work of the Council of Europe Yerevan Office carried out in the spheres of human rights, justice, maintaining the rule of law in the past years, Natalia Vutova highly appreciated the cooperation with the Department for Juvenile Affirs and Domestic Violence Prevention.
Valery Osipyan also stated that he considers the above-mentioned cooperation effective, underlining that about 100 police officers partook in training within various programs, which helped to acquire the necessary new knowledge and skills to apply in their professional activities.
During the meeting other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
