Information on upcoming events dedicated to the 100th commemoration of the Armenian Genocide /UPDATED/
• On Thursday, April 23 at 5 p.m. the canonization ceremony of the Armenian Genocide victims will be held at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The ceremony will be broadcast live and it will simultaneously be shown on big screens in the Republic Square, Yerevan. Taking into account the large scale of the scheduled events, the presence of numerous foreign delegations, the large number of people wishing to partake in the events dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, special routes have been elaborated jointly by Armenian Police and offices of the Mayors of Etchmiadzin and Yerevan cities. Thus, free buses will take people from Yerevan's Brazil Square to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and, upon the end of the event, the buses will take participants back to Yerevan.
The operation of personal transportation vehicles is not recommended.
• Anyway, those wհօ will arrive in Etchmiadzin on their own vehicles are kindly requested to park the cars on the road heading from Etchmiadzin to Armavir. Here free buses will operate to take the participants to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
• For security reasons when entering the territory of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, as well as other outdoor public event venues (listed below) it is prohibited to carry the following items:
- chemicals, explosive and flammable substances, as well as goods that could pose a danger to the public,
- ammunition, any kind of weapons and bullets (except the officers on duty, who have the legal right to carry and use firearms),
- large objects, including shopping bags and other packages, sacks, backpacks, suitcases, etc.
An inspection and screening of personal belongings will be conducted.
• On April 23, 2015 at 8:10 p.m. the Republic Square in Yerevan will host a concert of the rock band “SOAD”, which leads a consistent struggle for the international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide. The concert will be held under the slogan “Wake up your souls”.
Access to the Republic Square will be open only from Shahumyan Square via Vazgen Sargsyan street after passing security checkpoints.

• On April 23, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. there will be a limitation of traffic on the following streets leading to the Republic Square:
– Amiryan street — from the intersection of Mashtots avenue and Amiryan street,
– Abovyan street — from the inersection of Abovyan and Tumanyan streets,
– Nalbandyan street — from the intersection of Nalbandyan and Tumanyan streets,
– Hanrapetutyan street — from the intersection of Hanrapetutyan and Byuzand streets,
– Tigran Mets avenue — from the intersection of Tigran Mets avenue and Khanjyan street,
– Grigor Lusavorich street — from the intersection of Grigor Lusavorich and Italy streets,
- Khorenatsi street — from the intersection of Khorenatsi and Zaqyan streets and that of Khorenatsi and M. Mkrtchyan streets.
• On April 24, 2015 there will be limitations of traffic on the following sections of roads:
- 08:00-24:00 Baghramyan avenue, from the intersection of Baghramyan avenue and Moskovyan street and that of Baghramyan avenue and Kievyan street;
- 06:00-24:00 Athens, Tsitsernakaberdi, Kievyan streets, as well as Leningradyan street (from the intersection of Leningradyan and Shinararneri streets to Kievyan bridge), Halabyan street (from the intersection of Halabyan and Arzumanyan streets to Kievyan bridge);
- 06:00-14:00 Admiral Isakov avenue (from Sebastia street to Haghtanak bridge), Argishti street (from Grigor Lusavorich street to Haghtanak bridge), Mashtots avenue (from Grigor Lusavorich street to Haghtanak bridge);
- 08:00-24:00 Baghramyan avenue, from the intersection of Baghramyan avenue and Moskovyan street and that of Baghramyan avenue and Kievyan street;
- 06:00-24:00 Athens, Tsitsernakaberdi, Kievyan streets, as well as Leningradyan street (from the intersection of Leningradyan and Shinararneri streets to Kievyan bridge), Halabyan street (from the intersection of Halabyan and Arzumanyan streets to Kievyan bridge);

• On Friday, April 24 ceremonial events will be held at the Armenian Genocide Memorial complex with the participation of high-ranking foreign delegations. Access to the Memorial Complex will be open for visitors from 1 p.m. Visits to the memorial complex will continue on April 25.
• On April 24, at 8:15 p.m. the Republic Square in Yerevan will host the World Orchestra 24/04 with the participation of 140 musicians, conductors and soloists from around the world.
Access to the Republic Square will be open from Vazgen Sargsyan, Amiryan streets and Tigran Mets Avenue after passing security checkpoints.
Any movement to/-from the streets of Nalbandyan and Abovyan will be prohibited. The entrance is free.
• On Friday, April 24, 2015 at 10 p.m. the traditional torchlight procession to the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex will start from the Republic Square.
The route will be as follows: Republic square –Amiryan street – Mashtots avenue – France square – Marshal Baghramyan avenue – Barekamutyun square – Kievyan highway – Kievyan bridge – Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex – Memorial Complex of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
