DELEGATION OF GEORGIAN MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS VISITS ARMENIA

On Friday, December 16 the delegation of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Georgia, led by Minister Giorgi Mghebrishvili, arrived in Armenia.
The delegation included Head of Administration of MIA Mr. Zurab Zubadalashvili, Director of the Central Criminal Police Department Davit Natriashvili, Head of the Public Relations Mrs. Thea Pertaia, Head of Samtskhe-Javakheti regional main division Teimuraz Kalandadze and other officials.
Armenian Police hosted a solemn ceremony in honor of the Georgian colleagues, which ended with a demonstrative performance by the Honor Guard.
The delegation of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Georgia was received by Head of Police of the Republic of Armenia, Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan.
Greeting the guests, Vladimir Gasparyan highly assessed the achievements of the traditional partnership between law enforcement agencies of Armenia and Georgia and underscored that the joint work has already yielded significant results.
Giorgi Mghebrishvili thanked for the warm reception and expressed confidence that the traditional cooperation between the Georgian and Armenian law enforcers in the sphere of fight against crime will continue to deepen, embracing new fields of countering modern challenges.
Vladimir Gasparyan reiterated the determination of the leadership of Armenian Police to further strengthen the well-established partnership; the Police Chief stated that the direct and daily interaction between the relevant departments of the two law enforcement structures is the best way for that.
During the meeting the two sides signed a declaration on strengthening cooperation between Police of the Republic of Armenia and the Georgian Ministry of Interior.
Vladimir Gasparyan awarded Georgian Interior Minister Giorgi Mghebrishvili with a medal "For strengthening cooperation”.
After the reception, the delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia visited the Armenian Genocide memorial complex.
Georgian law enforcers laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame, got acquainted with the materials of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute and planted a fir at the Memorial Alley of Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex.
The Georgian Interior Minister Giorgi Mghebrishvili was received by President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan later that day.
