On August 9 the delegation of police of the Republic of Armenia led by head of the RA police, Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan paid a working visit to the Republic of Georgia.
Georgian colleagues met the Armenian delegation at Armenian-Georgian checkpoint and accompanied them to Tbilisi.
Georgian minister of Internal Affairs Irakli Gharibashvili received his Armenian colleagues in the Ministry of Internal affairs of the Republic of Georgia.
Issues regarding the current state of cooperation and its further development were discussed during the official meeting.
The two sides highlighted that a new dimension must be added to the cooperation between Armenian police and Georgian MIA, practical steps must be taken to turn the bilateral cooperation into a daily work.
Partly, the sides underlined the necessity of discussing the process and results of the reforms currently being carried out in the two agencies,  a special emphasis on the importance of exchange of experience was made.
It was decided to activate the works aimed at cooperation in certain spheres.
Representatives of the External service of the Georgian MIA, partly, those of Patrol service, will soon pay a visit to Armenia to exchange experience with the representatives of the corresponding subdivisions of Armenian police within the above-mentioned arrangement.
Just after the Armenian delegation met with high-ranking officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, RA police chief Vladimir Gasparyan's and Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Irakli Gharibashvili's face to face meeting took place.
The members of the Armenian delegation got familiar with working conditions, leisure facilities, and physical fitness level of the central apparatus of Georgian MIA.
Within the working visit the Armenian delegation visited Vake-Saburtalo regional division of the Georgian MIA, where they got familiar with working conditions, technical equipment and the process of service organization.
Partly, the visit to the “112” service of the Georgian MIA is noteworthy. All the information received from police divisions, fire and rescue services, medical institutions, as well as from citizens – 20-25 reports a day is concentrated there. Operators process the information and address to corresponding divisions to take concrete steps.
The other group of operators conduct monitoring, use monitoring devices to keep the situation both on metropolitan streets and in public places under permanent control.
Within the working visit the members of Armenian delegation had meetings with Georgian senior officers of corresponding spheres, certain spheres and cooperation programs were reviewed.
Even though the representatives of the two law enforcement structures did pay mutual visits in the past, but this working visit was unprecedented both from the point of view of the range of issues discussed, and the warm and sincere atmosphere of mutual understanding, which draws out the prospects of turning the cooperation between the two countries into a partnership and joint close activities.
After the Tbilisi visit the delegation of Armenian police accompanied by the minister of the Internal Affairs Irakli Gharibashvili visited Adzharia, where they had a meeting with members of the Georgian government and senior officers of local law enforcement bodies.  
On August 11 the delegation of police of the Republic of Armenia returned to Yerevan.
