On Wednesday November 26, 2014, Armenian Police held a meeting with World Bank representatives. Present at the meeting were: Deputy Head of the RA Police, Police Major General Vardan Eghiazaryan, Head of the Division of Reforms and Coordination of managerial decisions of the Organizational and Analytical Department of the RA Police Headquarters, Police Lieutenant Colonel Liana Amirkhanyan, Head of Sowtfare and Maintenance division of the RA Traffic Police, Police Colonel Gagik Safaryan,  World Bank representative K. Migara De Silva, Manager of the World Bank’s Public Sector Modernization Project for Armenia Aharon Mkrtchyan, WB Public Sector Management Specialist David Melikyan, electronic management specialists Tina George and Seda Pahlavuni.

During the meeting Deputy Head of the RA Police, Police Major General Vardan Eghiazaryan introduced the measures which can be treated as a priority for the Armenian Police to be implemented within the frame of the World Bank’s Public Sector Modernization Project for Armenia with the financial support from international organizations. Thus, Mr. Yeghiazaryan touched upon the following 3 priority measures: establishment of Operations monitoring centers in the provincial Police Departments, implementation of projects on «adoption of portable cameras» and «collection of data related to accidents followed by third-party liability claim (more often referred to and known by its acronym in Armenian: APPA)». 

Summing up the discussion, WB representatives gave an assurance that the received proposals will be considered thoroughly and necessary steps will be taken to jointly implement them.
