OSCE Representative Visits Police (VIDEO, PHOTOS)
On Wednesday, September 11, Ms. Mona Nordberg, Police Affairs Officer, Adviser on Community Policing atTNTD/SPMU, OSCE, visited the Police of the Republic of Armenia. Deputy Chief of Police, Police Colonel Hovhannes Kocharyan received the OSCE representative.
During the meeting the directions of cooperation between the OSCE and the RA Police were discussed and future actions were specified, the improvement of the skills of the police officers was the focus of attention.
Hovhannes Kocharyan highly appreciated the bilateral cooperation, thanks to which numerous programs were implemented. He also presented to the guests the achievements of the RA Police in modernization of its activities in particular, implementation of the Patrol Police Model Program and other directions.
Head of Public Relations and Information Department, Police Colonel Ashot Aharonyan also received the guests.
Mona Nordberg highly appreciated the work and achievements of this police unit. Issues related to providing information, working with journalists and transparency of police activities were discussed. Ashot Aharonyan emphasized that in this matter the Police act only within the law, taking into account the interests of all parties.
Mona Nordberg expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and the work done by the unit. Highly appreciating the cooperation with the OSCE, Ashot Aharonyan presented other directions of expanding the cooperation.
