Police officer detained while taking bribe

As a result of operative investigation measures taken jointly by officers of National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia and Internal Security Department of the RA Police, senior investigator at the 1-st subdivision of the Central Investigation division of Yerevan city Investigation Department, Police Captain Edgar Petrosyan was detained while taking bribe on November 28. The latter had been serving as a police officer since 2006.
A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of bribery.
The prepared materials were submitted to the Sepcial Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia.
Police of the Republic of Armenia assure that every effort will be applied to carry on an uncompromising struggle against corruption and the Police will continue the consistent process of self-refinement.
