Vladimir Gasparyan pays a working visit to Vayots Dzor marz (VIDEO and PHOTOS)
On Wednesday March 12 Head of Police of the Republic of Armenia, Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan paid a working visit to Vayots Dzor marz, where he met with senior officers of Vayots Dzor Marz Department of the RA Police and representatives of Vayots Dzor marz administration.
The conference convoked at Vayots Dzor Marz Department was devoted to the priority tasks set before the Police in compliance with the Police reform program. During the conference Vladimir Gasparyan demanded to activate measures aimed to create a new kind of law-enforcer, to teach police officers to think in a new way, to prevent any unlawful attitude towards citizens and to raise the level of police officers’ professional readiness to a high level by holding regular practical courses.
During the conference the Police Chief touched upon a number of burning issues and strongly demanded to combat such vicious phenomena like crime concealment, improper treatment of citizens, use of force when taking testimony and etc. Vladimir Gasparyan instructed to carry out active prophylactic works with juveniles and to monitor pupils’ attendance records to exclude such vicious phenomenon like issue of school-leaving certificates to those who did not attend the classes systematically, for this creates a fertile ground for еvading military service.
The Police Chief demanded to improve the quality of services provided by those subdivisions which directly contact with the population, i.e. Passport, as well as Records and Examination divisions, Traffic Police and etc. Vladimir Gasparyan noted that in spite of tangible achievements, the public confidence degree is still unsatisfactory.
Touching upon the policing in Jermuk city, Vladimir Gasparyan revealed its main peculiarities and highlighted the necessity to establish an “Angels” battalion in this resort town. The Police Chief reminded that higher education, knowledge of foreign languages and first aid skills are the main personnel selection criteria.
After the working conference Vladimir Gasparyan met with local community heads at Vayots Dzor marzpetaran. During the meeting the Police Chief stated that the Police expect assistance from Heads of communities and bodies of local self-government to combat illegal hunting, ensure traffic security and etc.
Vladimir Gasparyan highlighted the importance of taking urgent measures to detect and seize illegally held firearms and ammunition.
Vladimir Gasparyan assured that all necessary measures are being taken to maintain close ties with the population, coordinate joint activities and strengthen citizen feedback.
