The delegation of the U.S. Peace Corps office in Armenia visits the Police

On Friday, March 27 Head of the RA Police Headquarters, Police Major General Aram Zaqaryan received the delegation of the U.S. Peace Corps office in Armenia led by newly-appointed country Director Charles Enciso.
Welcoming the guests, Mr. Zaqaryan underscored the importance of the well-established cooperation between the Armenian Police and the U.S. Peace Corps Armenia. On behalf of the RA Police leadership Mr. Zaqaryan assured of the readiness to further support the Office in the implementation of various programs.
Mr. Enciso expressed his gratitude for the works performed by the RA Police so far and noted that no conflict has ever arisen between the two structures. It was highlighted that the existing partnership can surely be defined as quite effective and targeted.
The activitiy and  current programs of the Peace Corps Armenia were presented during the meeting. It was mentioned that at present there are more than 70 volunteers serving in the Peace Corps, who are currently involved in the implementation of “English as a foreign language” and “Community and Youth Development” programs throughout all the provinces of our republic .
The two sides reached an agreement to further activate the cooperation especially in the youth field and to directly involve the concerned police subdivisions and provincial departments in the relevant activities.
The meeting agenda also included other issues of mutual concern.
