Armenian Police Chief’s congratulation on the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays

Armenian Police Chief’s congratulation on the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays

On behalf of the Board of Police of the Republic of Armenia and myself, I would like to congratulate the entire staff of the Police, their families and all our compatriots on the occasion of the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays.
The beginning of the new year is not only a holiday, but a unique opportunity to give a retrospective assessment of the passing year, weigh the work done and outline our future actions.
Starting the process of drastic reforms in the Police in 2011, we were convinced that we would manage to renew everything, from ideologies to the Police uniform, from the level of professional readiness of the personnel to the technical equipment of the service, from the quality of education of police officers to the new level of the social welfare of police officers.
Today we can state with confidence that during the recent years of police reforms we have a transition to higher professional, functional and structural levels of the Police system has been made.
And, most importantly, there has been an unprecedented increase in the public confidence in Police and the civilian oversight of our activities keeps on increasing, collaboration between the citizen and the police officer is growing into joint activity.
And we will keep on moving forward along the chosen path of reforms since giving up will mean falling not into the trap of stagnation, but that of a regress, Police should always be a step ahead of the social developments.
We will keep on eliminating our drawbacks, correcting previous mistakes and shortcomings and enrolling new generation of police officers. We are committed to formation of a Police system which is demanded by our people and our time.
I am convinced that we will accomplish all our tasks with great dedication and strong ambition, as it is our mission and we have undertaken it for the sake of the Present and Future of our country.
Let’s go to meet the new time with great belief.
Once again, Happy New Year and Merry Christmas.
May our Lord Jesus Christ bless and protect us all.

Vladimir GASPARYAN
Head of Police of the Republic of Armenia,
Lieutenant General
