The newly-appointed U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia visits Armenian Police (VIDEO and PHOTOS)

On Wednesday, February 25 Head of the RA Police, Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan received Mr. Richard Mills, the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia.
Vladimir Gasparyan congratulated Ambassador Mills on starting his diplomatic tenure in our country and underscored that Armenian Police has traditionally maintained close relations with the U.S. Embassy. 
The Police Chief expressed the hope that the Ambassador’s tenure would be marked by new achievements of the well-established partnership.
Ambassador Richard Mills expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and gave an assurance that during his tenure he would do his utmost to further develop and strengthen the bilateral relationship.
Vladimir Gasparyan emphasized that the cooperation with the U.S. partners has been important not only from the point of view of exchange of experience, knowledge, but as well as in the context of ensuring effeciency of ongoing police reforms in Armenia.
The Police Chief presented the results of the first stage of police reforms and touched upon the main tasks envisaged by the reform program for the second triennium particularly highlighting the Police activity transparency, qualitative modernization of police structures providing services to the citizens, measures aimed at minimizing corruption risks and fostering public confidence towards policing.
Ambassador Mills assured of the Embassy's interest in police reforms and readiness to assist them in the best way possible.
The meeting agenda also included other issues of mutual interest.
