On Monday, January 27, Acting Head of Police of the Republic of Armenia Arman Sargsyan received a delegation led by Commander of the Kansas Army National Guard, Major General Lee Tafanelli and US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Lynne Tracy. Welcoming the guests, Arman Sargsyan stated that bilateral cooperation has been successfully established. The Acting Head of Police emphasized that both the Embassy and the Kansas Army National Guard have always willingly assisted the Armenian Police with logistics and exchange of experience. In this context, Arman Sargsyan highlighted the importance of expanding the fields of cooperation, stating that the Armenian Police delegation is currently at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center within the framework of the well-established cooperation. Arman Sargsyan spoke about the most important episodes of Police reforms, emphasizing the importance of the newly established General Departments of Criminal Police and Public Security Protection. The Acting Head of Police also referred to the creation of the mobile patrol service, underlining that the exchange of experience is also important in the light of establishing the mentioned unit. Major General Lee Tafanelli thanked for the warm welcome and assured of their readiness to develop the cooperation. According to the Commander of the Kansas National Guard, Regardless of the countries, the criminal challenges are the same, in order to fight effectively against them, it is necessary to work together to uphold the rule of law. Lee Tafanelli presented the human resources policy for serving in their country's law enforcement agencies, which enables them to make the right choices and deliver quality services to the public. US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Lynne Tracy in her turn highlighted the importance of the ongoing Police reforms in Armenia, assuring of the Embassy’s readiness to support the improvement of the professional knowledge and skills of Armenian police officers within the frame of various programs. In this context, the two sides discussed a number of issues of mutual interest.
